Better with a Buddy is Back! Due to the high number of cats we see every spring and summer, we are offering two cat adoptions (any age) for the price of one! Since our cats reside in an open environment at the shelter you can easily see which cats get along well together and as always, make the decision based on compatibility into your home and lifestyle!

How it Works...
The first step in adoption is visiting our brightly colored, cheery, animal shelter. Here, you’ll find a friendly and knowledgeable staff ready to help you find the right pet for you.
Want to take a look at our cats? You’ll have a great time in our open cattery! This room allows the cats to roam freely about--and right into your open arms. That means that finding the right one for you is easy!
If you are interested in adopting a dog, you will first be asked to complete a very short survey as part of our Meet Your Match program. This will help us get a better idea of the personality and energy level of the dog that you want. The next step is introducing you to the dogs that meet your wants and needs. (This is the best part!) Once you find the right dog for you, it’s a matter of some paperwork and adoption fees and then you and your new best friend are ready to head home.
What You Get...
When you adopt a dog or cat from the UCHS, you get more than a new best friend!
Dogs are already spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies), tested for heartworm, and microchipped. Your new dog will also have a collar and new leash. All dogs undergo a behavior assesment called Meet Your Match that was designed by the ASPCA and receive some training during their stay. The value of these services is over $450 and you get it all for just $70-$150! (plus the cost of Union County License tags).
Cats are already spayed or neutered, tested negative for Feline Leukemia and FIV, up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies) and microchipped. The value of these services is over $300 and your adoption fee is just $70!
Please Keep in Mind...
You must be 18 years or older to adopt an animal.
We do allow out-of-state adoptions.
We want to help strengthen the bond between people and animals in order to enrich all lives. For this reason, we reserve the right to deny any adoption if we feel the match is not in the best interest of the animal or people involved.
